Before we look at the armpit pain treatment, we need to understand the causes. These are:
Pulling a muscle
Lymph nodes inflammation
Bacterial infection
Shingles
Diabetes
Medical conditions like lymphadenitis
Poor posture
Straining
If you start experiencing numbness, tingling sensation and sharp pain which radiates to the heart, you should act fast in order to get appropriate armpit pain treatment.
When you check into a hospital, the doctor will examine you from the armpits before proceeding to the ears, throat, ears and the skin. You should inform the doctor the time you started experiencing the symptoms so that a proper diagnosis is made.

Ice treatment

One of the arm pain treatment options involves use of ice. An ice pack is placed in the arm pit for a few minutes. You should also alternate the ice with heat treatment in order to encourage blood flow in the area. After resting, you can stretch the area so as to improve blood flow.
Drugs will be prescribed for the treatment of shingles. Some of the drugs which will be prescribed include Zovirax and Famvir, both of which are anti-viral. Shingles is a viral disease which affects the torso and will usually present itself in the form of rashes.

Creams

There are some over-the-counter creams you can use for arm pit pain treatment. The hot pepper is a good remedy for this pain because it contains capsaicin, a chemical which readily removes the pain.

Numbing drugs

The pain leads to numbness, hence the need for numbness drugs. Lidocaine is a perfect example of the drugs which can be used to manage the pain.

Antibiotics

For conditions like hidradenitis suppurativa, antibiotics are prescribed to treat it. The antibiotics are also used to treat bacterial infections.

Medications for acne

In case you are suffering from acne, the doctor may prescribe some medications which would be used to treat the condition.

Surgery

If all the above arm pit pain treatment options fail, surgery may be the last result. However, you will find that some of the conditions do not require any treatment and will in fact resolve on their own. Viral infections for instance last for a few days before disappearing.
Tumors on the other hand may fail to respond to any treatment hence the last resort which is surgery.

Prevention

One finds that although most of these conditions cannot be prevented 100%, one can take adequate steps to prevent. For instance, muscle straining can be prevented by avoiding excessive use of force when taking part in some of the sports like tennis.

Use of deodorants

Some of deodorants we use because skin irritation and allergies. If need be, you should change them and replace the milder ones which will not cause any irritation to the skin. You should replace the anti-perspirant and detergents which tend to irritate the skin.
Good hygiene will help you stay clear of the excess oil, sweat and chemicals which irritate the skin and especially in the armpit area.
